When deciding what wrap shop to use for your personal or commercial color change you want to make sure to have clarity on the materials being used and the installation methods being used by your wrap installer. Recently wrap shops are opening all over and it doesn’t take much to rent a garage and call yourself a wrap shop. We have found it extremely difficult to find experienced wrap installers that not only know how to wrap but also know how to treat a customer’s vehicle. Our wrap installer has mechanical experience and enjoys working on vehicles of all kinds. His knowledge of automotive disassembly ensures that your vehicle will be disassembled, wrapped and reassembled correctly. When your deciding which shop to use for your vehicle wrap feel free to use some of the information provided on this page to help you make sure you’re getting the best service, wrap materials and peace of mind.
At Big Splash Graphics we offer two variations of wrap installation methods. We offer professional color changes and commercial color changes. The differences between the two are described below.
A professional color change is common for most personal color changes. If you have a car, truck, suv, jeep or exotic and want to change the color of your vehicle you will most likely require a professional color change. This method of installation ensures that we wrap far enough into recessed edges and around corners in order to hide as much of the original paint color. We always speak with our customers about the preparations for their wrap and ensure were handling the wrap according to the client’s expectations. Common disassembly include removal of mirrors, door handles, interior door panels and roof antennas. We only remove parts that would interfere with the quality of the wrap installation. In some instances, front and rear bumpers may be removed and wrapped “off the vehicle” but this is not a common occurrence and only done when necessary.
RATE AND PRICING – We determine the amount of wrap film required to cover your vehicle and multiply that by our rate per square foot. We also take into account any additional labor that may fall outside the normal wrap labor to determine the estimate for your vehicle wrap.
A commercial color change is a type of installation that Big Splash came up with to help us split our color changes into the two distinct categories. Some commercial businesses require color changes to change the base color of their vehicles. In most cases it’s not necessary to wrap into recessed edges and we could allow some of the existing vehicles paint color to show when examined up-close. We have provided a few photos to help show this installation type. The main reason we decided to offer this installation type was cost and time. Commercial color changes use less material and require less time than a professional color change. In most cases we use this method when a commercial client wants to change the color of their vehicle and install overlay graphics on-top the color change. When you wrap a vehicle completely and then apply additional graphics on-top of the wrap “the cost” of the wrap will increase significantly. Since all work is based off “square footage of materials used” the more layers applied – the more expensive the wrap becomes. Most commercial businesses are trying to ensure their marketing goals are met and that their wraps look professional and a commercial color change serves that purpose very well.
